From May to October
We'll visit Cagliari, Sardinia's most important city. Strolling about the narrow streets of “Castello”, the Medieval quarter, we'll see the fourteenth-century Pisan towers and visit Santa Maria's Cathedral. From the top of the old bastions, we'll admire the breathtaking view of the city and its gulf. We'll then go on to Molentargius pond where pink flamingos live. Not far from there, we'll then reach Poetto, Cagliari people's beach, where we'll spend the whole afternoon.
Excursion along the South-east coast with stops at Mari Pintau and Solanas beaches. Our destination will be Porto Giunco beach in Villasimius where we'll spend the whole afternoon. Time and weather permitting, we'll go out for a boat trip.
We'll cross Campidano plain to reach to Barumini Nuragical complex “Su Nuraxi”, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After visiting the Nuraghe, we'll go for a pleasant walk through the Giara upland, where we'll be fascinated by the scented bushes, the cork trees and the paulis , small lakes which make a perfect habitat for the small wild horses the Giara is well-known for. Then we'll drive to Tuili where we'll taste Pecorino cheese, Nuragus wine and Mirto liqueur.
Excursion along the South-west coast with an optional stop at Nora beach where we may visit the Punic-Roman city ruins. Our destination will be Su Giudeu beach in Chia, where we'll spend the whole day.
We'll visit Montevecchio mining complex. We'll then go to see the highest sand dunes in Sardinia: Piscinas dunes, which are up to 60 meter high.
Excursion to Santa Barbara grotto in Iglesias. Then we'll drive along the West coast to Masua beach and Pan di Zucchero stak.
